Skin Rejuvenate

Skin Rejuvenation is also known as photo-rejuvenation; the non-invasive, non-surgical face lift.

SHR light affects protein present in cells which produce collagen. Collagen & elastin production increases, giving your skin a fuller, smoother appearance. Fine lines and wrinkles are softened and may virtually disappear.

Pigmentation spots slowly come to the skin's surface and are shed naturally.

Facial redness, broken capillaries, spider veins and vascular lesions dissipate into the lymphatic system for excretion, just as bruises do.

Enlarged pores, minor pitting and scarring diminish and fade.

IPL treats the propioni-bacterium in acne. Results for treating acne and rosacea are usually profound.

Preparing for treatment:

• No recent sunburn
• Avoid depilatory creams used within 7 days before
• No Roaccutane in the past 6 months
• Not currently taking photo sensitive medications
• No dermal fillers or muscle relaxants with 72 hours of your scheduled treatment day
• Some medications or supplements may increase your risk of bruising. Consult with your Doctor prior to treatment should you be concerned
• Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.)
• History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment – Ask your doctor

On the day:

• Your skin must be in good condition, i.e. not dry or irritated.
• No makeup or sunscreen to be worn on the day of treatment
• Tell your therapist of any changes to your health history or
   medications since your last appointment
• No active infections
• Point out any metal implants (dental plates etc.)

How often will I need treatments?

It is difficult to predict the number of sessions required, as it depends on the nature of the lesions to be treated and their size, plus the client's skin type, condition and colour. Some conditions may require maintenance treatments from time to time. This will be discussed during your consultation. Different types of skin rejuvenation require different numbers of treatments.

Treatment guide:

Fine lines & wrinkles, enlarged pores, minor pitting & scarring, etc. 2 to 4 treatments usually recommended, at 4 to 6 week intervals.

Facial redness, broken capillaries, spider veins, etc.
5 to 6 treatments usually recommended, at 4 weekly intervals.

Freckles, sun spots, flat birthmarks, etc.
5 to 6 treatments usually recommended, at 4 to 6 week intervals.

Results are profound, but these hormonal conditions may return, 2 to 6 treatments usually recommended, at 1 to 3 week intervals.
